BijouCREATES was originally developed from the founder's desire to incorporate West African prints and stylings more actively, not only in her personal styling and designs, but to see these influences more widely available within the mainstream global market.

This was first developed in our device case series, taking an everyday item, a laptop case and applying a distilled amount of print fabric, on a western traditional leather envelope style. Becoming popular this initial piece birthed the design fusion for our first series of products and lead to the creation of BijouCREATES.

Now BijouCREATES explores developing work at both an architectural scale, fashion pieces & within independent academic research works. To delve deeper than only utilising the visual iconography within West African culture and art, but to apply and discover the rich sensitivity, of how these influences can used and manifested in so many was.
Through working with other artisans and creatives, diversity of project typologies, partnering with other brands that have a shared ethos or impact intention. And by telling the stories of other West Africans at home and within the British Diaspora
